From 22-nd until 24-th of May 2009 the teacher Eric Graf from Neuchatel, Switzerland will be a guest at our dojo and will give a weekend seminar which is open for every interested aikidoka to participate.

Short biography of the master:

Eric Graf, 3°Dan Aikikai
(Dipl. Ing. Math., degree in mathematics, statistics and methodology)
Born 1977; married, 2 kids

Eric Graf is the founder and owner of the aikido dojo "Espace culturel" in Neuchatel, and the techincal director of "Aikido Ikeda Dojo" in La Chaux-des-Fonds. He is the founder and the publisher of the international aikido magazine "San Shin Kai letter", which covers aikido, hojo and genki-kai, and was first published in 2004. Also, he is the author of the book "Genki Kai" which is published in French, English, Serbian (2003) and German (2005).

The average of 10 trainings per week occupies all his evenings. He attends 20 weekend aikido seminars per year, as well as 3-4 all-week seminars all around Europe (mostly in Switzerland, Poland, Czech Rep., Slovak Rep., Serbia, Croatia and Netherlands). He himself also holds seminars in and out of Switzerland.

Besides the passion for aikido he works as a scientific cooperator in the Federal bureau for statistics.

Martial arts experience

1996 - Starts learning aikido under the guidance of Masatomi Ikeda sensei (7th Dan Aikikai shihan, technical director of the Swiss aikido organization at the time) and under the guidance of Michele Quaranta sensei (6th Dan aikikai, the head of the aikido school in Basel, Switzerland)
1999 - starts learning Hojo under the guidance of Masatomi Ikeda sensei.
2000 - He establishes and becomes a technical director of the “Aikido Ikeda dojo” in La Chaux-des-Fonds. Begines studying Genki Kai under direction of Masatomi Ikeda sensei.
2000 - He passes the exam for 1st Dan, examined by Michele Quaranta sensei.
2003 - Takes over the leadership of the aikido dojo in Neuchâtel.
2004 - He passes the exam for 2nd Dan, examined by Michele Quaranta sensei. New dojo in La Chaux-des-Fonds (previously led by Michele Quaranta)
2005 - He undertakes Seitai course with the teacher Pasquale Aiello 6th Dan Aikikai.
2006 - He buys a space, self-constructs and opens the centre “Cultural Space” in his hometown Neuchâtel. The centre is oriented towards the development of the human potentials through the study of martial arts and theirs philosophy.
2007 - He passes the exam for 3rd Dan, examined by Michele Quaranta sensei.
